MIF allows FrameMaker and other +applications to exchange information while Z .preserving the document s content and format. :Text Only Unformatted text. Only the text in text 0columns is saved. When you choose Text Only and Gclick Save, the Save As Text dialog box appears &you can specify how to save the text. Dialog box where you save a document as unformatted text. This setting lasts only until you quit FrameMaker More p Automatic Save - r Every n Minutes Periodically saves a copy of all documents you make -changes to. The copy will be named by adding 3Autosave to the end of the document s filename. To 4indicate how often automatic copies should be made, : ,type the number of minutes in the text box. 3When you use the Save, Save As, or Revert to Saved h 6command, FrameMaker deletes the automatically saved copy. 6If your system crashes or a power failure occurs, you 8can open the Autosave file to recover most, if not all, of your work. Moree Fast Text (Uses : Disk Cache) :Increases the speed with which FrameMaker scrolls 0and pages through a document. To accelerate the ke ;display of text, FrameMaker requires up to 100K of F -memory and creates a document in your System /Folder named Fast Text Cache. If your document 5uses many fonts, this file may grow as large as 500K 7to 2000K. If the Fast Text Cache file grows too large, q 7turn off Fast Text and delete the file. Then turn Fast h <Text back on. FrameMaker will create a new, smaller @ version of the file. Greek Screen Text Smaller Than Sets the minimum point size at which characters will 5be displayed on the screen. Smaller text will appear 0greeked as a gray bar on the screen but will be tu 1printed normally. Pages with greeked text appear H 0more quickly than pages with individually drawn characters. 4The current zoom setting affects whether or not the 5text appears greeked. For example, if you display 12- ,point text at a zoom setting of 50 percent, FrameMaker uses 6-point characters. If you specify y 9that text smaller than 7 points be greeked, the lines of text appear as gray bars. Cross-Platform 4Specifies the platform on which you plan to use the th :document. FrameMaker alerts you when you give the 6file a name that doesn t work well with the specified 3platform and when the document you re saving has a you /reference to a file with an incompatible name. gre FrameMaker uses names for generated files that will `@ 7work well with the specified platform. If you later open or 0the document on a system with the original font se (installed, the original font reappears.
